Which book should I write first?
Having 2 or more book ideas can be both a blessing and a curse. The dilemma is which one to write first. Only you can decide, but it helps to think about these questions – not just because of your answers, but also about the gut feelings you experience when you really look at having written each one. You will be “author of …..” which one first?
First list your topics, adding more line for more major book ideas.

What do you want to accomplish, what is your purpose for writing a book on each topic?
How are you qualified to write about each topic?

About which topic do you feel the most passion and excitement?
#1 or #2 or #3
Research: Even books based on personal experience sometimes require some additional research. Which topic would you most enjoy researching?
Book Store: In the future, when you search for your books in a book store, which one will you look for first?
“Author of _________”: Picture yourself on the way to speak to a small group at a Barnes & Noble. The topic, of course, is your first book, about which you feel so passionate! Which topic is it on?
Legacy: Which do you see as the most valuable legacy for you to leave behind?
Marketing Considerations
You’re looking forward to people buying and reading your book(s). So consider them while you’re choosing topics.
Please resist the urge to say “Everybody will want these books!” That’s not realistic. Think about who will reach for it on a store.
Which book will appeal to the most book buyers and readers?
Which one will be the most popular for gift giving?
Take some time to think about and write down your feelings about each of those questions. Listen to your heart. Don’t let pure logic get in the way. That has its place, but if you don’t follow your passions in where to begin, you may never complete that first book!
